Welcome to the Maryland Kadampa Buddhist community. Drop in for meditation or a special day or weekend retreat.

Vikatadamshtri Buddhist Center is a Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Center in Baltimore. Located near the Baltimore Museum of Art and Johns Hopkins University, the center provides meditation classes and teachings in various parts of Maryland, including Annapolis, Baltimore, Bel Air, Bowie, Columbia, Lutherville, and the US Naval Academy. We also offer several classes in Pennsylvania.

Taught by qualified local teachers, the meditation classes are very easy to understand and apply to our daily lives. The classes are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners.

Don't hesitate to check out a meditation class this week and see for yourself!

Classes will be held on Sundays, January 11th and 18th and February 1st and 22nd, from 12-3pm at the Center in Baltimore. You don't need to have any artistic skill to attend! Simply drop into any class. All classes are free. Find out more about these exciting upcoming classes here!

  • Our weekday Heart Jewel prayers and Lamrim meditations will now be held Tuesday through Friday at 9am. On Mondays, we will engage in a longer version of the prayers at 9:30am. Please bring a small offering of food, candles, flowers, etc. to the Monday prayers.
Heart Jewel prayers also take place at the Annapolis Friends Meeting House every Monday at 6:15pm before the introductory meditation class.

  • We regret that The Sanctuary, where we have been holding meditation classes in Lutherville, has closed. As of now, classes in Lutherville are cancelled, but please keep checking our website because we are trying to find a new location for the meditation classes.

  • Check out the Peace of Mind Meditation Retreats at the Kadampa Meditation Center in New York.
